GM India has silently launched the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze facelift in the country, informing us through a Facebook update. The visually different Cruze now gets a redesigned grille, which is referred to by GM as a "dual port grille", an all-new front bumper with a chrome lining for the foglight enclosure, newly designed alloy wheels and a mildly reskinned headlight cluster.
In terms of features, the top-end LTZ model now gets side airbags in addition to the dual front ones thus taking the total count of airbags to four. The base LT model gets only a driver and passenger side airbag though.
Mechanically, the Cruze is powered by the same 1,998cc four-cylinder diesel engine producing 166 PS and 380 Nm of torque. Transmission options include either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic unit. The manual has its ARAI fuel efficiency pegged at 17.3 km/l.
This is the second update GM India has given the Cruze, the first update which happened in June last year saw a mild retuning for the 2.0-liter engine.
Meanwhile, GM has already commenced testing the next generation Cruze which will go on sale by the end of 2015.
