The 3 Sedan has scored the best result for Adult Occupant Protection in Euro NCAP’s 2013 program so far! Just to put things in perspective, the 3 Sedan is rated 95% for Adult Occupant Safety, while the current Mercedes C-Class is rated 82%. The Qoros’ 87% Child Occupant safety once again betters the Merc’s 70% and finally pedestrian safety has been rated at 77% for the Qoros while the C-Class manages a paltry 30%!

Roger Malkusson, Executive Director of Vehicle Integration at Qoros, said –

We have been working towards this result for many years. Our safety team is made up of experts from many different countries and our efforts have been focused on delivering a thoroughly well engineered car that achieved maximum safety scores. We are very proud to have achieved the top rating of five stars.

Seems Chinese are trying to change their image. This is a very good result, seems that they have hired people from all over the world. and with this car they want to conquer the world. This is a luxury car and unfortunately most of the Chinese cannot afford to buy this car, and what they afford is the low quality deathtraps. Just like India.

Oh, boy! And clueless Indians instantly associate China-made and Chinese makes as “low quality” stuff. This Chinese brand (I know it’s a Chinese-Israeli JV employing global experts) has achieved with their very first product something that Mahindra and Tata cannot even dream of achieving in their ‘n’th products. How sad!

I think this is a wake up call for the established global car makers from America, Europe, Japan and South Korea. The Chinese cannot be ignored any longer. The established brands better pull up their socks if they don’t want to cede market share to the new kids on the block from the world’s largest car market.

@apn r: No company will make safe vehicles until and unless our government makes safety norms compulsory. Apart from that majority of Indian people do not care about safety aspect of the vehicle as well. There is same condition in China like India.
