According to a new report from Autocar India, Ford India would be launching the 2013 Ford Fiesta facelift early next year.

2013 Fiesta is immediately recognizable thanks to its Aston Martin like grille.

Ford had introduced the comprehensively facelifted 2013 Fiesta (both the sedan and hatchback) at the 2012 Sao Paulo Motor Show in October last year. Since then, the updated car has gone on sale almost everywhere apart from India.

The 2013 Fiesta can be instantly recognized thanks to its Aston Martin like grille. The front and rear bumpers are all new as are the taillights. The headlights get a minor restyling which may not be immediately noticeable and Ford has also redone the hood/bonnet.

Inside, we notice that the center console gets a piano-black finish replacing the current model’s silver accents. The design of the steering wheel has also been changed. Underneath the hood, the Fiesta is likely to continue with its current range of engines which includes the 1.5-liter petrol outputting 107bhp and 14.2kgm of torque and the 1.5-liter diesel producing 89bhp and 20.8kgm of torque. While the diesel gets a 5-speed manual, the petrol is available with Ford’s 6-speed dual-clutch automatic apart from the manual.

It is also reported that Ford would consider increasing the local content on the Fiesta to have a more competitive pricing, which is currently lacking on an otherwise mechanically sound car.

We would certainly expect Ford to show the updated Fiesta at the 2014 Auto Expo in February.

Ford makes driver oriented cars which are fun to drive and does have very reliable diesel engines, ( I don’t know about petrol cars, but I own a 2006 Ford Fiesta 1.4TDCI that clocked 90000kms and still running strong…! And I am looking forward for the upcoming new Fiesta in 2014…:-)

Service is a major concern with ford…They give lame reasons and refuses to cover product under warranty. Even i had raised my concerns to ford customer care but they never respond back. Think before we invest on Ford:-(

While driving an automatic , dnt put all ur strength on the gas pedal on one go , drive the vehicle on decent RPM ,and let the vehicle do the first service and the gradually see what mileage you getting out of it.
My frnd has got an ECOSPORT AT in MUMBAI and i have the DIESEL (titanium), In Mumbai traffic the AT is delivering about 9-10 now , and my diesel is doing about 13 – 14 kmpl.
The mileage will get better after first service and honestly what a pleasure to drive the AT in the city traffic, great choice of vehicle…. Hitin , you will be very happy with the mileage soon

Hitin, this is not a case just reserved for you. The Auto variant is reportedly giving 6-7 for most users whom I know. And the Ecoboost mileage figures had come out much prior to the release when Ford had given the cars for the Urban Discoveries campaign. It was reportedly giving a mileage of 8 to 9 max. You can google out the various forums on the Urban Discoveries campaign.

Ford makes good cars, but reliability is still a BIG question mark. My brothers Figo which has covered 65,000km is being towed to the SC while I am typing this, it stalls while driving and now it refuses to start. Ford, test your vehicles properly for Indian conditions before launch.

The new one looks, that too the front looks, pretty good. What a design transformation from old Fiesta to the 2013 one..!! As you reported if they increase the localization and have price correction, that would be again swing up Ford’s sales … But don’t delay Ford, do it fast …:)
