Tata has just announced the 2013 Tata Nano with a host of changes. Here are the headlines.

General Note for the 2013 Model Year Tata cars and Pointers from the Press Conference

Tata tell us that all the MY 2013 products have been improved upon after taking into account feedback from the dealer and customer level. About 500 Tata employees met with the dealers and the customers before the start of the MY 2013 program. In general, Tata say that the overall reliability and performance of the cars have been improved.

Mr. Karl Slym, MD of Tata Motors, told the media that Tata Motors had planned products for the Indian market until the year 2020. He also said that Tata would be playing in future segments. In Sanand, Tata will be making another vehicle apart from the Nano. Mr. Slym did not reveal the vehicle though.

He also said that 150 new generation dealerships would be opened by this year. These flagship dealerships would have a new and different type of customer experience. Not to mention, there would be 11 new service programs in the coming weeks.

On the outside

The 2013 Tata Nano can be easily identified thanks to the chrome strip on the front bonnet. The new blue color is a talking point as well. The rear of the Nano gets a new bumper with some vents while an additional chrome strip takes shape across the car.

    when the Tata Nano will be launched in Indonesia, we are waiting for NANO, I think this is the right time because the Indonesian government impose low tax rates for small cars

    This is a smart car for city , low cost of maintenance , easy to drive and park . It is less heavy in your pocket. For city use why spend so much money in expensive cars. Afterglow car is an depreciating item .

    Using nano for the past One year, Its good, except the Silencer , the nut fixed to the Silencer breaks offen, in One year i have changed it 3 times..

    i own a nano iam happy with the car if not for the suspention,in particular the rear where i alway”s have tyre wear. i cant go forser4vice every 1oookm. ithink tata has to seriously look into this problem.

    after reading about the tata customer care but i have a very nice exprience with tata service. they rendered a prompt service to me and overall experince is so good.

    worst customer care ever. i put call back for c c in tata website regarding tata ev2 . i mention clearly respective field name contact no, RESIDENT TAMILNADU,CHENNAI. but they call and speak in HINDI. i am in southern region there is no hindi in the southern states, then i request call back for regional language in c c, till date more than 3 months no regional langauge { tamil ,telugu,kanada,malayalam} spekers are not in tata customer care. they lost a valuable cutomer willing to purchase Ev2 .now im move towards to figo value for money car.

    All this improvements are of no use untill and unless the TATA guys do not change their attitude of a Truck Manufacturer.

    They have to change their DNA FOR private personal vehicle owners.

    The customer service of TATA IS THEIR WEAKEST LINK THAT KILLS THE RESALE PRICE OF THE TATA VEHICLE.

    TILL DATE TATA MOTORS DONT HAVE A CUSTOMER CARE WORTH NOTING. THEIR CUSTOMER CARE MANAGER WESTERN REGION MR NITIN also have a very very callious attitude.

      your anguish can well be understood from your comment but IMHO there is nothing like a “truck manufacturer” mindset that is affecting tml.

      Yes,poor after sales service is a true fact which has even been acknowledged by the senior management in the company.

      Read the article and you’ll find that Karl himself has said that 150 new “world class” dealerships with state of the art services are being rolled out in the next one year.

      While doing so new upgrades,launches have to be carried out,which is being done through their horizonext program.

      I own a Manza and a nano and i must tell you that I have been more than happy with their products.

      An INDIAN engineering company delivering value for money Quality products deserves respect.
