For people of Chennai, spotting a new car with Ford badges has become an everyday affair. The informed lot know that it is the Ford EcoSport mini SUV and take out their cameras immediately to shoot.

Today we bring you one such video where a couple of Ford EcoSports were caught testing in the suburbs of Chennai by a Youtube user named Mr. Rajesh Mani. The grey mule features in the most part of the video while the yellow test mule appears in the last few seconds.

The drivers of the cars were trying their best to evade the camera but it went in vain. The Ford EcoSport, according to us, is already a long overdue product considering the fact that the car made its global debut at the Delhi Auto Expo last year.

Ford EcoSport caught testing in Chennai again

Ford India is tight lipped about the launch date of the EcoSport and many potential buyers think that the wait is simply too long. Not knowing when the SUV will be launched doesn’t help their patience that has started wading away.

The Ford EcoSport is expected to be offered in Indian market with a choice of two petrol engines and a diesel engine. The 1.5 litre petrol and diesel engines will be lifted from the Fiesta while the second petrol will be the award winning 1.0 litre EcoBoost.

Renault India must be happy that they are being offered a free road ahead for the Duster until the EcoSport arrives.

Am already out of the long list of Indians waiting for this car. Now with the look of things it seems they are planning to launch it after the budget.

By keeping everyone guessing for this long,Ford India is ruining a golden opportunity to capitalize on the new compact suv segment.I am sure there are a substantial number of people who are loosing interest because of this short sightedness of Ford India. In the meanwhile Duster is having a free run!

Gray one wheels have hubcaps while Yellow Titanium Tdci? has the alloys.

Strange if they fit alloys only on the higher models when both variants have wing mirror indcators…

Got a call from Ford dealership in gurgaon today. Ecosport to be launched in last week of March. Only 1L ecoboost in petrol and will be priced between 7 to 9.5. The guy was very confident about the pricing!

yes, i agree – the launch is for March. expect the vehicle to be in showrooms by feb end / early march and pricing out by mar end. some dealerships has started booking at Rs 50k. For a long time i have been mentioning on this blog that only 2 variants are there – 1.0L ecoboost petrol and diesel. I think it should be abt 50k cheaper than duster other feature being equal
