In a comprehensive list of cars ordered by release date, Korean Car Blog has laid down the product maps of Hyundai and Kia for the next five years. The report provides details on the next generation i10, next generation i20, i45 facelift and i15 that slots between i10 and i20.
The next generation i10 and i20 are both expected in different points of 2014 and the i45 will receive a mild makeover at the end of 2012. By late 2012, Hyundai will launch the i15 (code – HB) and between April and September 2012, curtains rise on the new Santa Fe/ix45.
In late 2014, the i45 will skip to the next generation with a plug-in hybrid option.
These are the models India can expect as their predecessors are already available/about to be launched.
Hyundai has some secret exhibits for the Delhi Auto Expo. They are planning to show a MPV concept HND-7 the KCB report does not talk about. The KCB report also skips facelift plans for the Eon and we get a sense that these two models could be reserved strictly for markets like India.
Though all this sounds very convincing, none of the information has come from Hyundai officially.

This is a very difficult period for mid term plans. Europe is hit strongly by the recession and the US is also looking how will the situation develop. Hyundai should be very careful because ant wrong move could harm the company very much in following four years.
I have a Hyundai Santro Xing XG bought in March 2005, it has done < 38,000 km. A couple of days back when I went for pollution check the car emanated black soot. Today when I took the car again to the service center at Austin Hyundai in Baishanabghata Patuli township in Kolkata black fumes emanated again and the engine oil seemed black as the service advisor indicated. He has taken the car and indicated that an engine overhaul is needed and piston might be needed. The estimate given is Rs. 25k
and would take 10 days plus.
My thoughts are that at less than 7 years and less than 38,000 km, an engine overhaul reflects very poorly on Hyundai Santro. The car has been serviced regularly, the most recent being Sept 2011. I am trying to get any contact from Hyundai also with whom I can check but to no avail. There website has a form which I have filled but the service center is not listed out there.
Anyone experienced in this regard and any suggestions please?
