Hyundai i10 weighs just 830 Kgs + add 40 Kg for Boot (Dzire’s boot just 25 kg) + add 60 more kgs to Engine + Toyota build…..
May be we can have a under 1000 kg Sedan…!
930kgs kerb weight will make it lighter than several hatchbacks! So its doubtful.
@Harish – yes, we said this is speculation. I read on Tata’s Indigo e-CS website that the kerb weight of that car is 1066kg. The Indigo makes use of a structure built and designed the previous decade. Perhaps with use of modern technology and superior materials, the weight can be brought down to that level.
But there’s no arguing that the dimensions of the Etios sedan is larger than the Indigo CS and the engine is bigger as well. 930 is perhaps wrong. Remember, this is a speculative article.
