Honda CB Twister takes commuter bikes to new level laden with features and styled like CB1000R
With 9 bhp of power and a claimed mileage of 70kmpl, Honda’s new CB Twister promises to shake up the 100-125cc segment. The lion’s share of the 100cc market belongs to Hero Honda, and their bikes also boast of such credentials. The path Honda took with this motorcycle is entirely different to one adopted by its Indian partner.
The CB Twister looks everything but a Hero Honda Splendor or Passion. Many of us yesterday expected to see a plain and boring commuter with puny tires and no personality.
By making the move of introducing a lower capacity motorcycle, Honda expects to see a change in customer perception and expand this section of the market.
As the name denotes, the 110cc CB Twister is inspired by bigger the CB1000R. The core USP of this motorcycle is its style, but there are plenty of other reasons why customers would buy this product.
You get features which aren’t seen on this side of town. Tubeless tyres, maintenance free battery and viscous air filter improve performance and reduce maintenance cost. Other features like short muffler and half chain are attributes that define how stylish this motorcycle is.
Though the design of the Honda CB Twister has been penned at Honda’s Italian design studio with the CB1000R as inspiration, the motorcycle is manufactured for the demanding Indian customer. Primarily to address the need of the Indian youngster in both rural and urban areas, the motorcycle will also be exported to other countries in the future.
Honda isn’t planning to introduce fuel injection or more powerful engines on the CB Twister, though it expressed interest in bringing bikes of capacity 180-250 to India in the future. Honda is also studying the possibility of electric and hybrid two-wheelers for Indian market in Japan (as revealed by Japanese designers of this motorcycle) but they too are at quite a distance.
The CB Twister is available in five colors – Yellow, Green, Black, Red and Blue. The base model is priced at 42,000 rupees and will be available in showroom in India by the end of February 2010.

Yeh i got my choice, i supposed to bought honda shine on diwali but my cousin told me to wait fore this bike ,and ya now i can say that i did the right thing.but only one question raising in my mind that cant u all think that 110 cc is not enough it shud be atleast 125 cc..yah i agree its best in its segment but even it would give tough competition to other 150cc bikes.Dont u thnk?

Its a great bike…. Look at its specs … 110cc and 9PS power……. More power out of it and u would start complaining about its milege…. And also it is feature laden…… like it has got tubeless and tuff-up tyres , uber cool styling and morethan nething else, u and ur father , both can take it out 4r a ride….. I’m a actually a HH fan but 4r this bike, hats off….. Whoever is tlking about Bajaj 135cc Pulsar, I would rather buy this bike over it cozz this is a mesmerizing Honda and thts a never-satisfying jus’ 2 yrs ownable bike…. So, never ever take a Bajaj, or be prepared 4r the maintainance costs(6 months is more than enough to make the On-road price and maintainance costs equal!!!!)
honda always rocks!! if you think pulsar 135 is better than honda cb twister,then you should stop biking….honda’s engine are the best engines in the world….bajaj’s engine are the worstest engines and you will know if you ride their bikes for more than 2 years…

Mr. javed khan above has a valid point. It’s a company who has to think in order to provide us with better technology. These misconceptions have been continued from so many years that we Indians can do without the technology but not without the price tag. a li’l modifications in specifictaions won’t cost us a bomb. We should understand that.plus a fuel injected bike would deliver more mileage than a conventional carburators. Automobile giants like HONDA should understand this and should come forward with some new technology and differernt styling. M sorry to say but this bike looks like it has been made on a platform of yamaha fz ……….the company should focus on some new designs plus some new technology we can look forward to. they gotta understand that India is one of the most fast developing automobile market in the world. When new brands are coming in, companies who have been here for so long have to give us something new to “wow” us. HONDA TWISTER may do well in the market out there…..but for me…it’s just another bike on the block.putting some extra muscle won’t change the biking experience. new technologies should pour in and established brands like honda should bring them to India at competitive prices. Thts when we can call our so called bikes………”good bikes”……..!! nonetheless……….All the best HONDA……..

This bike looks very amazing and unique in it’s segment, and with a reasonable price with such kind of features, i know Honda as a great engine provider and tubeless tyre in this bike is great. well done I hope this is going to beat TVS (which does not exists anywhere ) Hero Honda (old Looks ) and Bajaj (high maintenance required). If Honda thinks we Indians are only good for old and outdated stuff, we should kick Honda’s backside and stop patronising their products. Companies like TVS and Bajaj are at least trying to give us cooler, faster, better, more powerful, more stylish bikes. What the f*** has Honda been doing in the 10 years since it’s been in this country? Two ancient scooters and crappy old 150s, 125s and now a 110! Honda? Pah! We can do without you. TVS, here I come…

No matter what everyone says but this bike is going to do well in India. The bike looks the best in its category with some useful features and i dont see any reason for this bike not getting a good response.

Whoever says the CB Twister is based on the Honda CB1000R is spouting crap. The Twister is just a puny little commuter bike that’s overpriced and under-spec’d. Honda has completely failed to live up with the pre-launch hype that had been created for this bike.
In countries like Thailand, Honda has fuel-injection even on its 90cc step-thru mopeds while in India it still continues to sell old, outdated technology.
Auto websites like Indianautosblog should point this out to their readers, not blindly repeat Honda’s PR-speak on an online forum like this!
The bike looks good yes, but the new Pulsar 135 blows it away.
