Autocar U.K claims Tata Motors will perhaps purchase 50.7% stake in the Italian design house that’s designed every Ferrari till date.
Pininfarina concluded on the decision to sell 50.7% stake (major) at a board meeting held last week and has tied up with a bank to assist with transactions.
Whether Tata Motors is among the bidders is still not confirmed.
Every model except the Tata Prima have been designed by I.D.E.A or Tata’s in-house design. The fascinating Tata Prima concept shown at the Geneva show in March this year, is a product of Pininfarina.

@Rahul – I think Tata’s planning its future very well. The Indica could look so radical that it will sell very well even in developed countries by the end of the next decade. The Indica V4 designed by Pininfarina could be the best looking hatch in the world! Pinin has certainly got the talent and the power to create such whimsical designs.
Tata is really making the Indian car Industry proud. It had just months back launched Jaguar and Land Rover and as unveiled Nano. The carmaker is really able to revoluyionize the car world.
