Not yet, but very soon, as these spy shots propose, the Indica Vista Ignis with steering mounted controls, Airbags, ABS and a 1.4-liter SAFIRE engine is galloping our way.
Tata’s Vista Ignis will have Fiat Linea’s 1.4-liter petrol engine capable of delivering 95PS. Currently, the petrol Vista uses a 1.2-liter engine with 65 PS rating from the same family, which isn’t underpowered, but taking stock of what the the competition offers, the 1.4-liter variant could ignite Vista sales.
On the other hand, Tata Motors is known better for its diesel engines. The Safari petrol bombed, the Indica XETA could not hold a candle, and the Indigo and Marina petrols were nothing more than faint attempts to change the diesel-only image. Tata even offered a staggering 100hp Indigo XL limousine, which found minuscule success.
Could the Ignis mark a new era in Tata Motors’ petrol offerings? You tell us.

@yashpal – we are not very sure about the launch date, but you should wait till Diwali before buying a car.
hi
when we can expect Ignis?
I have put on hold my plans to buy a car.
I was about to book vista saffire.
Any ideas?
Yashpal
@samc – we’re not sure. Perhaps you could wait a little longer as the car is expected to reach showrooms shortly.
Any idea if this variant will be offered with 1.3 QJD?
@Raj – I thought the City Rover was 85 PS? Ok, in the U.K the petrol Indica was preferred, but in India they are only diesel players
Tata’s core competency has ben Diesel, plonking Fiat petrol engines into Vista is ofcourse a good idea as petrol engines from Tata has not been a sucess except the petrol indica sold in UK in the name of City Rover which is 95 PS fully loaded with features.
