The new VW Polo is making headlines already. Infrastructure is being put in place for the roll-out of the Indian Polo, overseas, it is getting ready to attack its segment players in a grand manner.

During this period of recession when it’s tough to expect even a 1,000 pre-launch bookings, the New Polo has scored 24,000 which is definitely some kind of achievement.

The 2010 Volkswagen Polo has created some ripples in Indian Auto Industry already. The Polo family of cars have gone down in history as a reliable, comfortable and sturdy vehicles. The Polo will be launched in India soon, competing with the Hyundai i20, Skoda Fabia and the Fiat Punto needs a lot of character.

The 2010 VW Polo a.k.a the New Polo is powered by a 1.2 ltr turbo charged petrol and the diesel comes with a 1.6 ltr engine delivering 105 hp and 95 hp respectively. It will be shown at the Delhi Auto Expo next year in January.

The cost of the car is $ 17,000 US that equals to roughly 8.5 lakh rupees. The officials say that the car will be indianized to reduces its price.
