No.. We’re not joking or displaying the wrong set of Images! One has to observe very closely indeed to notice the changes that have gone into the new Honda Civic facelift – launched in Malaysia.
The “recession facelift” as our friend over at paultan.org calls it, happens to be a cost cutting measure to improve the sales of the existing over-engineered Honda Civic. That’s what we call “a facelift for facelift sake”
Honda Civic’s Facelift includes
- New front bumper that is reminiscent of the Civic Type R
- Larger grille
- Smoked Headlamps
- Diamond-shaped design for the tail lamps
- New chrome alloy wheels – 17 inch with a 10-spoke design
- Fabric seats with a new design
- More Colour options - Crystal Black Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Sparkle Gray Pearl and Bold Beige Metallic
Take a look at the High-res images above. Only then will you come to know what we are talking about.

Hi Jazz,
Don’t know if this is the right place to post this info, thought I should share this news with you. Honda stopped taking orders for existing New City S AT. It seems they are going to make some changes in the interior and going to introduce a new version by the end of this month or next month. I don’t know the features available in this new version and the price tag. But what I know is they are going to change the interior plastics. There were complains from everyone that the plastic used was very cheep. If we are lucky we will also get alloy wheels and fog lamps.
And Honda recently started taking orders for this new version, even though dealers are not aware of exact price and features.
@Raj – you’re welcome.
Thanks Jaz
I would do that
@Raj – No problem. I would request you to come back here daily and read our news and put your view in the comment box wherever possible. This is something you could do for us.
Thank you Jaz
@Raj – they have spotted a test mule in Noida. This is a minor face-lift and am sure it is the car you are seeing above. Now, for the features, our sources in Honda say they are really not sure. Maybe in a month’s time it will become more clear. You will have to keep an eye out to learn more.
Thank you Jaz.
I am planning to buy Civic-AT. Just wanted to know if I should wait for this new one.
Few things I like in this ‘facelift’ are
1. 16″ Tyres
2. Steering mounted audio controls
3. USB Support
4. And of cause the sexy alloy
But I don;t know if these would be available in the India version. Any idea???
@Raj – they are going to facelift this car very soon, probably by the end of this year. But don’t expect much in the facelift. The bumpers and tail lights will be altered. And that would be it.
Do you know when they are planning to launch this ‘facelift’ in India. And what would be the pricetag?
