The earlier rendering of the Fiat Topolino showed its strong connection to the Fiat 500. The new rendering of the Fiat’s low cost city car for Europe and Asia brings small cars like the Toyota iQ and Ford Fiesta into the equation.

Measuring 3.15 metres in length, it will be slightly longer than the Toyota iQ. To start with, a 900cc engine would be employed which would produce a more than enough 65 hp.

Toyota has unveiled a new, more powerful version of their tiny iQ minicar.

Dubbed the iQ3 (iQ cubed), the new variant features a 1.33-liter dual VVT-i engine (both in the intake and exhaust manifolds) that produces 98 bhp and 125 Nm of torque.

Despite the added power, the Toyota iQ‘s acceleration is nothing to write about with 0-62 mph taking 11.8 seconds, but for Indian standards its fast.

The Toyota IQ, Japan’s answer to the Mini, Fiat 500 and the Smart has scored an amazing overall score of 79 percent at the recently conducted Euro NCAP crash test.

The cute little Fiat 500 which is also known as Cinquecento and the ‘mighty mouse’ has been voted as the ‘Best Compact Car’ in Japan. Over 80,000 users took part in the competition and judged it ahead of it’s competitors Toyota IQ and Peugeot 308- Yes, the unpredictable Japanese are at it again voting for the 500 in spite of the home grown IQ contesting.
