Our friends at CarroseSegredos have posted an image of two black Tata Xenons with masked badges and test plates running in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Tata has not explored the Brazilian market but is present in Venezuela through a distributor retailing completely built-up units, a country north of Brazil.

Wall Street Journal very recently quoted a senior Tata Motors CV division official talking about land procurement in South America and South East Asia to build assembly lines for commercial vehicles.

The Xenon testing in Brazil is the top-end dual-cab LHD model sporting features like alloy wheels, body colored accessories and ABS. Domestic consumption is in single digits for the Xenon which makes a living out of demand in neighboring countries and pickup-loving markets like South Africa and Thailand.

Will you use the Tata Xenon as your wedding car?

We know nothing about wedding cars or weddings. The only weddings we’re bothered about is the one that happens between the engine and gearbox. In today’s world, that one marriage never breaks! And then there are marriages between sedans and SUVs, which one manufacturer found out, wasn’t exactly set in heaven.

But when it comes to soul mates and weddings, an essential part of the ceremony is how the couple arrive and leave on the big day. Or in what.

We first saw the single cab Xenon at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2008. A blue vehicle was parked alongside other debutant models like the Sumo Grande, Indica Vista and Tata Nano.

The Xenon may not find a sea of customers in our market but in other countries, it is suited for traders, farmers and entrepreneurs who want their personal commute to double up as a workhorse. If you deliver raw materials at the client’s office in a stylish pickup like the Xenon, the impressions you leave does a world of good to your brand.
