Isuzu D-Max is a popular pickup from the Japanese automaker in the Indian space. After being discontinued in April 2020 due to the BS-VI emission standards, the Isuzu D-Max 2021 made a comeback in our country. While the sales volume of the Isuzu is never comparable to the SUV segment, it has a firm set of fan-followers who love its utility, practicality and capability of the lifestyle pickup truck.
Isuzu D-Max is a popular pickup truck manufactured by the Japanese carmaker Isuzu Motors since 2002. The first and second-gen D-Max was developed on the platform of the Chevrolet Colorado.
Due to the BS-VI rollout, the Isuzu D-Max was discontinued in April 2020.
The Isuzu D-Max has been recently updated in three variants, namely Hi-Lander, V-Cross Z and V-Cross Z Prestige. The price of the 2021 Isuzu D-Max is at around Rs 16.98 – 24.49 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Specifications
All three variants of the Isuzu D-Max are powered by a 1.9-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that is BS6-compliant. In the reinforced guise, the engine can develop 163 HP of power and 360 Nm of torque, which is 13 HP and 10 Nm more powerful than the BS4 version. The Highlander is only available in two-wheel-drive system with the use of a 6-speed manual transmission while the V-Cross gets a 4WD along with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT option.
Features
The Isuzu D-Max boats of a lot of useful features for the utmost convenience and safety. The D-Max Hi-Lander comes with new digital MID, 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, 60:40 rear split seat, power windows, front and rear USB ports, manual AC, rear AC vents among others.
The D-Max V-Cross, on the other hand, is offered with auto-leveling LED projector headlights, keyless entry, automatic climate control, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, rear parking camera and many others.
Considering all it has to offer, the Isuzu D-Max is a very good car. The pickup truck has good capability to tackle quite any kind of harsh terrains and ferry a sheer good quantity of goods. It’s great for towing and going off-road. The only niggle you may have with the D-Max is the small and noisy cabin that makes it not a perfect choice for the Indian large families.
Currently, the Isuzu D-Max is going on sale in India at the prices starting from Rs 16.98 Lakh and going up to Rs 24.49 Lakh (ex-showroom). It is facing the competition from the Mahindra Bolero Pik-up and the upcoming Ford Ranger.
