Manufacturers are seeing that their product mix of petrol and diesel is changing to as adverse as 80% diesels. Clearly, this rapid dieselification of the market has caught everyone by surprise.

However, with the government showing signs of favoring the diesel engine cars, manufacturers are betting big on diesel.

Audi A4 325bhp oil burner tuned by B&B

Oil burners seldom make fast cars but Audi thinks otherwise. the firm had the Le-Mans winning R10 TDI and the upcoming R15 TDI and the 500bhp Q7 V12 TDI. So, tuners would be better off beginning with one of these performance diesels and that’s what B & B have exactly done.

B&B has taken the 3.0l Audi A4 TDI and put it on steroids.

The range topping 240 bhp diesel has been tweaked to give out a whopping 325 bhp! There are two stages and Stage-1 boosts power to 285 bhp and 585 Nm of torque while Stage-2 gives 325 bhp and 600 Nm of torque !

Hyundai i20 Diesel Coming by the end of 2009

Hyundai Motors India Limited is planning to introduce its recently launched i20 in diesel version by end of this year. Hyundai i20 currently comes in only petrol version, a 1.2 litre kappa engine, same as the one seen under the hood of its smaller sibling, being the sole powerhouse.

Hyundai India Launches Verna Automatic; Other changes cosmetic

Hyundai Motors has finally launched the refreshed Verna with an Automatic Gearbox. This is the first diesel car in its segment equipped with an auto transmission. Other changes on new Verna are purely cosmetic. The refreshed Verna is available in total of four new variants, Two Petrol – 1.6 VTVT & 1.6 SX VTVT and two diesel 1.5 CRDi VGT & 1.5 SX CRDi VGT, The VGT SX variant comes with an Auto gearbox.

GM speaks on new variants of Chevrolet Spark

General Motors is planning to launch an all new version of its popular Spark hatchback. General Motors hasn’t yet revealed any specifications of it but we expect it to be out soon.

This new variant may come with an 800 CC engine. Currently the Spark comes in four variants, 1.0L, PS, LS and top end LT.

We already saw this one coming. We’ve earlier reported on the LPG Spark variant, along with the Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Mini India plans.

Bharat Stage-IV to come into force in 2010

The Bharat Stage-IV will come into force next year, said Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (Siam) president Pawan Goenka. Regulations for emission levels are already the same for CNG and diesel under Euro-IV, a standard which the Bharat Stage-IV norms expect to meet.
