On its website, Fiat India automobiles has issued a statement that confirms the inauguration of its first independent dealership in India days after its divorce in retail and distribution with Tata Motors, in Hyderabad. Tejaswi Motors, at Punnaiah Plaza, is a 5,400 sq ft showroom with a frontage of 80 feet is opened by an existing Tata-Fiat dealer.

Fiat India is developing a new dealer network in 20 cities and is likely to make new product announcements only after these dealer showrooms are inaugurated.
As we are all aware that Fiat has already given the Linea a mid-life facelift to keep things fresh as a daisy. The production of the new Linea has already commenced in Bursa, Turkey.


As you can see the changes are purely cosmetic in nature and very minor to the amateur eye.
Tata Motors and Fiat issued a statement today stating that the two companies are re-aligning their Indian joint-venture. The release specifically states that Tata and Fiat will continue manufacturing engines and cars at the Ranjagaon facility in Maharashtra.
A new agreement has been formed on the distribution and commercial section of the joint venture. Fiat cars will be sold through a new Fiat dealer network and Fiat will establish a new company that will be responsible for commercial and service related activities. It is not the task of the dedicated team from Tata Motors any longer.
Fiat showcased the fluidic lined, curvacious bodied Fiat Viaggio at Auto China in Beijing which is Fiat’s first locally produced car for China. There are no immediate plans to sell the Viaggio outside China though Fiat India maybe interested in studying its feasibility.


The Fiat Viaggio is to the Dodge Dart what the Renault Pulse is to the Nissan Micra. The front and rear fascias were redesigned by Fiat Group’s Style Centre in Turin.

It should come as no surprise that Fiat engines outsell Fiat cars 1:Plenty. Fiat India’s growth story in India has been an on-and-off scenario wherein some months are exceptionally good and some are downright nasty.


There are many reasons for Fiat India’s stunted growth in India such as limited outlets, poor after sales service, lack of awareness of Fiat products. However, the biggest reason by far is the lack of products.
Production of the cosmetically different Fiat Linea has begun in Turkey but there’s very little information available on the model. From the images, we’re able to make out that Fiat revamped the front fascia lending it plenty of chrome.


The front bumper and grille are designed unlike any of the recent Fiat we’ve seen. Fiat used a different design language on the Punto when it was facelifted back in 2009 and last year. Fiat may believe in giving each car its own design interpretation.

The Fiat Punto is available in a myriad of options when it comes to engines. Fiat has launched the Punto in two states of tune – one for mass market with less power and one for petrol heads with a extra ponies.
You get a 1.2L petrol, 1.4L petrol, 1.3 Diesel with 75 hp and another 1.3L diesel with 90 Hp. However, we got the 1.4L petrol engine which means that we were expecting some good performance from our test car. After all you would be paying considerable extra than the regular 1.2L, hence you would be expecting some extra oomph.
