So here we have it, thanks to Supercars, Exotics and Imports Hyderabad Facebook page – The Veyon that costs 16 crore rupees a pop may put up with irritants such as poor fuel quality, bumper-to-bumper, clutch-cooking traffic and the curious motorists driving too close for comfort for a money shot, but the Indian speed breaker edges them out to take the crown as its biggest threat – See how the driver has to position the car carefully to negotiate the speed hump!

Fast fact – A set of Veyon tires costs as much as Ford Fiesta Classic!

First Impressions: 2012 Tata Nano

2012 Tata NanoThe Tata Nano, once upon a time the cheapest car in the world, may not have been as successful as Tata Motors hoped for. Controversy was once its byword, politicians, environmentalists and rival car companies had complaints even before it landed in showrooms.

As the Nano waded through controversies, it was met with intense criticism as a handful of Nanos went up in flames. Despite the company reassuring customers of its robustness and offering free checkups and safety tool fitments, the Nano was not a safe car to the eyes of the general public.

Tata has managed to put that ghost to rest, but the aftermath of the disaster is giving the little wonder and its parents sleepless nights.

International Wrap – i10-based Tam, Galibier, 2014 Q7

2014 Audi Q7 headlightThe Audi Q7 has established itself in the Indian market and month after month it outsells the Mercedes ML Class, cousin Porsche Cayenne and the BMW X5. Bringing about a similar condition in overseas markets rests heavily on the replacement for the Q7 expected in 2014. The predictable design direction of Audi led Shoeb R Kalania to magnify the Q3 (and rightly so) to reach the next generation Q7.

Bugatti Galibier tail lampAfter seeing the Aston Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamera serve the supercar experience to four people with generosity, Bugatti is upping the ante in the way it knows best – A four seater producing about 1000hp. The hypercar project is taking more time than initially predicted and the launch date (tentative) has been pushed back to 2015.

Kia TAM wing mirrorIf you thought the Hyundai i10′s only relative is the Kia Picanto then you’re wrong. Kia’s working secretly on another sibling internally named Tam. This car is like the Nissan Cube (a box with melted edges mounted on four wheels) and is driven by an electric powertrain.

So what can 16 crore rupees buy in India?

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport

Nothing says ‘India has arrived’ more than Bugatti launching a 16 Cr Veyron Grand Sport. Yes, you heard it right – 16 CR; that’s 16 followed by not five or six but 7 zeros. For a petrolhead, this car is Nirvana; for a rich business man, this car is the maddest way to get attention. This not a just a car, it is an engineering masterpiece made entirely from sheer improbable numbers.

Here are just a few

1000 bhp
A top speed of 407 km/hr
An 8 liter, 16 cylinder engine with 4 turbo chargers
0-60 km/hr in 2.6 seconds
A power to weight ratio of 440 bhp per ton.
10 radiators that require 55 liter of cooling water to keep it cool.

And all of these mind boggling numbers in a car that’s street legal. Honestly, this car can make a Maybach and a Rolls Royce look cheap!

Bugatti Automobiles has appointed Exclusive Motors as the company’s dealer in India. Mr Guy Caquelin, Sales Manager (Middle East, India and Europe), Bugatti, said, “Bugatti has been doing well in America, Europe and the Middle East. Now we see India as an emerging market for us, hence we have decided to bring the car to India.”

The company plans to sell 3-4 Veyrons every year in India and the deliveries would be made within eight months from booking.

Just to give you a small idea of how EXCLUSIVE this car is: Even if you win Kaun Banega Crorepati three times on the trot, you will still fall short of 1 cr to buy the car. So you need to win KBC thrice and then get lucky in a lottery immediately afterward to get one.

Bugatti Veyron to enter India this month, Rs 12 crore price tag

Bugatti veyron India

Bugatti Veyron is all set to enter India at a whopping price tag of 12 crores Rupees through its sole dealer Exclusive Motors, New Delhi. We had already brought this news to you months ago and broke the news that Exclusive Motors would be the official dealer.

The Bugatti Veyron is expected to be launched on the 28th of October and sources say there are already four confirmed orders for the supercar. The Veyron would come only as a Left Hand Drive and the car maker has specially made a request to Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) to exempt the Veyron and permit it to ply on Indian roads as a LHD.

Satya Bagla, MD, Exclusive Motors

The car is slated for launch soon but we cannot disclose its price. There are a few customers for Bugatti, but again their identities cannot be revealed now.

We hope Bugatti’s entry into India prompts other supercar manufacturers like Pagani, Spyker, SSC and Koenigsegg to enter the Indian market soon.

Bugatti Veyron

The Bugatti Veyron can travel over 400kph. It has over 1000hp. It has 16 cylinders and many turbochargers.

But isn’t it a car at the end of the day? And what ever affects our run-of-the-mill car, can wreak havoc even on a 17+ crore rupee car.

Like for example a flat tire. How much do you think it will cost to fix a flat tire? Or let me put this this way -

Which car can you buy with the money that goes into fixing a Bugatti Veyron’s flat tire?

Bugatti Veyron in India – At last! 17.5 crore price tag!

bugatti veyron

The big bad Bugatti Veyron has finally arrived in India and Exclusive Motors in New Delhi would be its official partner in India. Exclusive Motors already is the ‘exclusive’ dealer for Lamborghini and Bentley in India. The Bugatti Veyron comes with a 8.0 liter W16 quad-turbocharged 1,001 hp engine mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox and the word ‘acceleration’ would be an understatement for its 2.5 second 0-100 kmph sprint.

Though Bugatti’s official website doesn’t mention the name of the its Indian dealership, but said it was located at Hotel Samrat, New Delhi. We guess Exclusive Motors would be selling the Bugatti Veyron from its Lamborghini boutique located in the same Hotel. It is to be noted that the Bentley boutique of Exclusive Motors is located adjacently at The Ashok Hotel.

Sources say that the first Bugatti Veyron in India has already been delivered to a Mumbai based real estate tycoon. We all know Bugatti Veyrons come only in a two-two paint job, this Bugatti is Black and the second color is not known so far. The Bugatti Veyron is said to cost between 16 to 17.5 crore Rupees including all taxes and duties. Soon two more Bugattis would be delivered to a South Indian business magnate.

Since Bugatti Veyron comes only as a left hand drive model, Bugatti is said to have requested the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) to exempt the Veyron and permit it to ply on Indian roads. Would this mean other exotic marques like the Koenigsegg, Pagani, Spykar and all could come to India as a LHD version on a special basis. We wish DGFT could allow relatively cheaper, affordable muscle cars like the Mustang and Camaro to come in to India with special permissions.

One disturbing fact that we stumbled upon is that Bugatti’s official website and Bentley’s official website have a badly disfigured map of India (India without Jammu & Kashmir, precisely) on their pages.
