Dealer dispatches of the new Suzuki Jimny and Suzuki Jimny Sierra have commenced ahead of their launch in July in Japan.

The images show multiple units of the new Suzuki Jimny and Suzuki Jimny Sierra waiting to be transported to dealerships across Japan. One of them shows the dashboard of what appears to be the Jimny XL or Jimny Sierra JL. It lacks a touchscreen infotainment system and multifunction steering wheel. It does, however, get push button start/stop. The air conditioner controls, gear selector for the automatic variant, steering wheel, instrument console, and the 4x4 selector are also visible in the images. Pictured here are Kinetic Yellow, Jungle Green, Silky Silver, Chiffon Ivory, and Pure White examples of the Suzuki Jimny/Jimny Sierra. Lower-end grades get black steel rims, while the top-end grade comes shod with gunmetal finish alloy wheels.

As has been reported extensively, there will be two variants of the JDM-spec Jimny on offer. There regular Suzuki Jimny will use a 660 cc turbocharged petrol engine in XG, XL, and XC grades. It will be paired with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. There will part-time 4x4 on offer across all grades. The Suzuki Jimny Sierra employs a 1.5 L petrol engine in JL and JC grades. It gets the same transmission choices as the 0.6 L variant as well 4x4.

Visual differences between the Jimny and Jimny Sierra include the latter getting additional wheel arch cladding, wider tires, and a different set of alloy wheels. Both versions will be available in 4 dual tone paint schemes and 9 single tone options.
