2018 Hyundai Creta (facelift) bookings cross 14,000 units in just 10 days

Hyundai has received an “overwhelming response” for the 2018 Hyundai Creta that was launched in India on 21 May, 2018. Within just 10 days of launch, the company has received 14,366 unit bookings for the new SUV.

The Hyundai Creta was first launched in India in July 2015 followed by other markets. Since then, Hyundai has sold over 4 lakh units of its SUV globally. In India alone, cumulative sales surpassed 2.5 lakh units in March 2018. The company has received over 70,000 enquires for the facelifted model since ten days of its launch.

The new Hyundai Creta has a number of minor design changes. It features tweaked projector headlamps, new ‘Cascade design’ radiator grille, new bumpers, new faux skid plates, new positioning lamps and LED DRLs, new 17-inch alloy wheels and tweaked split tail lamps. Hyundai has introduced a host of new comfort and convenience features, some of which are the first in the segment. These include Smart Key Band with an integrated fitness tracker, electric sunroof, cruise control, wireless phone charger, 6-way power driver seat and sliding front armrest.

The new Hyundai Creta’s 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system is an upgraded unit that offers improved viewability and smoother operation. Moreover, it supports Hyundai’s AutoLink smartphone app now. This app helps the owner keep a check on the vehicle health, monitor driving patterns, manage parking, get roadside assistance and make a service request.

The facelifted Hyundai Creta is available with the same set of four-cylinder engines as the pre-facelift Hyundai Creta. The maximum power and maximum torque delivered by these engines have remained unchanged, but the 1.6-litre diesel engine now offers maximum torque from lower engine speeds and across a wider band.
