The changes to Fortuner are restricted to cosmetic enhancements. The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo does not get any mechanical or interior updates.

The TRD Sportivo variant gets a body kit that adds front and rear bumper extensions. The grille gets a gloss black finish instead of chrome along with TRD lettering in Red accompanied by a horizontal red stripe. Black inserts replace the chrome surrounds in the fog lamp enclosures seen on the standard Fortuner variants. Black and red decals with TRD Sportivo lettering towards the door sill and new dual tone multispoke alloy wheels round off exterior changes.

According to CarToq, the Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo package does not entail interior changes. However, the TRD Sportivo variants of the Fortuner sold in the Thai and Indonesian markets features darker seat upholstery. We will have to wait for the official release from Toyota to get confirmation.

Being a mere cosmetic exercise, there are no changes to the specifications or mechanicals of the Toyota Fortuner. The SUV is offered with a choice of 2.7 L Petrol and 2.8 L Diesel engines. The petrol variant of the Fortuner has power and torque output of 166 PS and 245 Nm respectively. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with no 4x4 option. Toyota Fortuner diesel has a higher power and torque output of 177 PS and 420 Nm (6-speed Manual) and 450 Nm (6-speed automatic) respectively. It also comes with 4x4, and the diesel automatic variants now feature an engine stop/start system.
