Tata Motors has launched the Nexon compact SUV today at a starting price of INR 5.85 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). for the base petrol trim and INR 6.85 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base diesel trim. The Tata Nexon is a direct rival to Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport.

The fully loaded petrol and diesel XZ+ trims are priced at INR 8.45 lakhs and INR 9.30 lakhs respectively. Dual tone variants cost INR 15,000 more.

There are two engine options to choose from - 1.2 L Revtron petrol and 1.5 L Revotorq diesel. Both engines produce max power of 110 PS. The petrol variant has a peak torque of 170 Nm while the diesel has a peak torque of 260 Nm. A 6-speed manual transmission is the only option available for now. Tata will launch the Nexon with an AMT gearbox before the end of the current fiscal year.

There are five colour options available -

The dual tone paint scheme is restricted to the first two colour options and available only on the XZ+ trim. Also, the Calgary White paint shade gets Sonic Silver painted highlights in place of Ivory White.
