According to a report from just-auto, the Suzuki Baleno hatchback will receive a facelift in the Q2 2018 (April-June 2018).

The facelifted Baleno could feature a thoroughly updated front fascia with changes to the grille layout, headlamps and bumper.

The Maruti Baleno is the production version of the Suzuki iK-2 concept from the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It debuted in the production avatar with a Suzuki badge at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Sales commenced in India first, though, in October 2015. The Japanese and European launches followed in March and April 2016 respectively. By June 2018, the Baleno will not have completed even three years in the market. However, as per the report, the new Baleno will arrive in Q2 2018, with the next-gen Baleno likely following in 2021. The latter should go on sale in Japan in Q4 2021 (October-December 2021).

Regardless of it launching next year or later, like the facelifted S-Cross, the new Maruti Baleno could feature a thoroughly updated front-end with a fresh grille layout, slightly tweaked headlamps and a restyled bumper. Other visual changes possible are tail lights with new graphics, new body colour choices and fresh trim and upholstery. The facelifted Baleno may have an upgraded Smartplay infotainment system featuring satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with performance and stability improvements, as well as an upgraded MID.

The Maruti Baleno is available with K12B 1.2-litre VVT petrol, D13A 1.3-litre DDiS 190 diesel and K10C 1.0-litre BOOSTERJET petrol engines. The Suzuki-badged version is available with the K14B 1.4-litre and the K10C 1.2-litre petrol engines also. Suzuki is not likely to make changes to this aspect.

The Maruti Baleno (Suzuki Baleno) is made at Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant and at Suzuki’s facility in Hansalpur. Production at both sites should continue post facelift. The facelifted model, whenever it arrives, should go on sale in India first. Maruti has already sold over 2 lakh units of the Baleno in India.
