Dacia introduced the second-gen Dacia Duster this week. Based on that, IAB's automotive illustrator Shoeb Kalania has created a rendering of the 2018 Renault Duster.
The India-bound 2018 Renault Duster would have some minor styling differences compared to the European 2018 Dacia Duster. As depicted, the French-branded version may have a distinctive radiator grille design. Similarly, the alloy wheel design would differ.
The all-new Duster features an evolutionary design that makes it look sportier and premium. With the lifecycle makeover, its interior has vastly improved to look more elegant while keeping things simple for cost concerns.
The four-spoke steering wheel looks very similar to that of the latest Dacia Sandero. Likewise, the instrument panel, dashboard, centre console, door panels and seats look new and is a notch above what the outgoing model offers. The automatic climate control system has chrome-finished rotary controls, and there are three central air vents instead of two. The switches on the centre console look more upmarket and are easier to use while driving. The tablet-like touchscreen infotainment system is positioned higher up for the same reason, offering the driver quicker access to the functions while driving.
The Duster still rides on the Logan/B0 platform. Like its basis, its engines are expected to remain more or less the same as now. In Europe, the 1.2-litre TCe petrol unit is a given. The 1.6-litre 16V petrol engine should continue to for the basic configuration(s). Some reports say that a 1.6-litre dCi diesel engine will replace the old model's 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine, while others say the old engine will continue with some tweaks. The Renault-badged version that will sell in India, however, may continue with the 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine, as well as the 1.5-litre H4K petrol engine. International markets may have the 2.0-litre 16V petrol engine option too in the all-new Duster. As before, Renault will offer a four-wheel drive system in select configurations.

The second-gen Renault Duster may arrive sometime next year for markets outside Europe. In India, the launch will take place only in H1 2019.
