In an attempt to take away attention from its newest rival, the Mitsubishi Expander, PT Toyota Astra Motor unveiled the new Toyota Avanza Limited Edition at the 2017 GIIAS in Indonesia. According to reports, only 150 units will be made available for sale in Indonesia.
Based on the top-end 1.5 G MT, the Avanza Limited edition has a sportier body kit comprising a black plastic garnish across the lower front lip, LED DRL strips under the fog lamps, side skirts, body-colored door mouldings, chrome-finished exhaust outlet and a sportier rear bumper. The only upgrade inside is a rear seat entertainment system fitted as standard.
It carries over the feature set from the 1.5 G variant, which includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth streaming and navigation, ABS and EBD, dual airbags, side impact beams, and a smart key with immobilizer. The third-row seats split 50:50 for improved practicality.
Powering the Avanza Limited edition is a 1.5-liter 5NR-FE sourced from the Toyota Vios, which produces 104 hp and 139 Nm. Unlike the 1.3 variant, the Avanza 1.5 is only available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
