As the launch nears, more Tata dealerships have started accepting bookings for the Nexon. We have already driven the compact SUV and Tata Motors has revealed almost all product details barring the price and official fuel mileage. The microsite has also gone live.
Tata Motors dealerships across India are accepting bookings for the Nexon for an amount of INR 11,000. No word on the deliveries yet, but expect the first batch to be handed over to buyers in September. A starting price of around INR 6.50 lakhs ex-showroom is the general expectation.
Styled based on Tata's Impact Design philosophy, the Nexon sports a SUV-coupe like exterior. Highlights include projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail lamp detailing, dual tone paint shades, Ceramic paint finish, and 16-inch alloys. The interior gets a floating dash top touchscreen with Android Auto support and will also gain Apple CarPlay later on. There are storage spaces aplenty with a total of around 31 pockets. Despite the compact dimensions, the Nexon gets rear AC vents.
Under the hood, the Nexon employs new 1.2 L Revotron petrol and 1.5 L Revotorq diesel engines. Both variants come with a 6-speed manual gearbox with optional AMTs set to join in this fiscal year. Maximum power output of both engines is 110 PS while the torque outputs are 170 Nm and 260 Nm respectively. The Tata Nexon is 3,994 mm long, 1,811 mm wide and 1,607 tall and has a ground clearance of 209 mm.
