The Suzuki Alivio Pro (China-spec Maruti Ciaz facelift) was unveiled at the Chengdu International Auto Show. As seen in leaked images earlier, the Alivion Pro gets cosmetic updates to the exterior along with added features. The 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift could receive similar updates when it reaches showrooms next year.

The exterior of the 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift could mimic that of the Suzuki Alivio Pro that made its debut at the Chengdu Auto Show today.

The Suzuki Alivio Pro features updates to the front in the form of a new chrome laden single frame grille with bevelled upper corners. There is a new front bumper with chrome lined fog lamps in a gloss black housing. The update also adds thin black strips right above the fog lamps. Over to the rear, the Alivio Pro gains a new bumper with a dual tone look and chrome detailing around the reflectors. Suzuki has also thrown in new multispoke 16-inch dual tone alloy wheels.

The cabin continues with a dashboard design identical to the Alivio. However, instead of faux wood trim, the show car has gloss black inserts separating the top black half from the bottom beige portion. The Suzuki Alivio Pro comes packed with features like ABS with EBD, keyless entry with push button start, six airbags, paddle shifters, and electric sunroof. The touchscreen unit supports Baidu CarLife integration and also doubles up as the display for the reverse parking camera.

Powering the sedan is a 1.6 L G-INNOTEC VVT petrol engine that produces 90 kW (121 hp) and 158 Nm of torque. Transmission options on offer include a 6-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual.

Changes to the rear are restricted to a dual tone bumper with chrome detailing around the reflectors.

The exterior updates that appear on the Alivio Pro could very well be the updates the Maruti Ciaz receives as part of the facelift expected in 2018. The Maruti Ciaz facelift is also reported to swap the current 1.3 L DDiS200 diesel engine for Suzuki's new 1.5 L diesel.
