Specifications of the forthcoming Skoda Octavia RS have been revealed by CarToq.
Powering the Skoda Octavia RS is a 2.0 L TSI petrol with 230 PS on tap and a 6-speed DSG handling transmission duties. Internationally, Skoda offers a more potent 245 PS variant of the Octavia RS as well, but that is not on the cards for the Indian market. In the 230 PS guise, the car will do 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds hitting a top speed of 249 km/h.
According to the report, the Skoda Octavia RS will be available in four colours - Candy White, Corrida Red, Steel Grey and Race Blue. Visually, the hotter RS variant differs from the standard car thanks to sportier front bumper with a honeycomb lattice design for the air inlets. They also house LED fog lamps. Towards the rear, the Octavia RS features a boot spoiler, chrome tipped dual exhaust pipes and a reflective strip across the lower part of the bumper. While Skoda lists 18- and 19-inch alloy wheel options for the Octavia RS on its global website, the report by CarToq claims it will come with 17-inch rims in India.
The Octavia RS comes with an all-black cabin with red contrast stitching on the seat and the flat bottom steering wheel. As part of the RS package, the cabin gets sports seats with integrated headrests. The 'vRS' badge is sprinkled generously including on the front and rear seats, steering wheel, and gear knob.
Bookings for the Skoda Octavia RS are underway and the car is scheduled to be launched towards the end of August. Cars will start reaching customers early next month claims the report.
Along with the RS variant, Skoda will add a new top of the line L&K trim to the Octavia priced around INR 30,000 more than the Style Plus trim, the report adds.
