The Polar White paint shade is new to the Verna. Four of the seven colour options - Fiery Red, Flame Orange, Polar White and Siena Brown - are new.

This example is the 2017 Hyundai Verna 1.6 petrol MT SX(O) variant finished in the Polar White body colour. It features chrome detailing around the grille and fog lamp enclosures along with chrome applique running along the window sill. The SX(O) trim sits at the top of the pile and comes equipped with projector headlamps with LED DRLs, projector fog lamps, 16-inch diamond cut alloys, LED tail lamp graphics and a shark fin antenna.

The interior of the Hyundai Verna 2017 gets a black & beige dashboard with silver accents. The seats are draped in black leather. Hyundai is offering the new generation Verna with segment-first ventilated front seats. Also included in the features of the SX(O) trim is a 7-inch touchscreen, electric sunroof, automatic climate control, leather wrapped gear knob and steering wheel and keyless entry with Smart Key and push button start.

The Hyundai Verna 2017 employs a new K2 platform and a body shell that comprises 50% AHSS or Advanced high Strength Steel. HMIL claims this enhances crash worthiness as well as aids performance. The sedan is 4,440 mm long, 1,729 mm wide and 1,475 mm tall and rides on a 2,600 mm wheelbase.

The controls for the ventilated front seats are placed under the aircon control just above the USB port and 12V socket.

While the new model Hyundai Verna retains the predecessor's 1.6 L Gamma Petrol and 1.6 L U2 CRDi diesel engines, the former now gets a 6-speed manual transmission. Also, a 6-speed torque converter gearbox replaces the 4-speed torque converter automatic.
