The fuel efficiency figures of the 2017 Hyundai Verna have been revealed via a 'Product Customer Module' shared by a Team BHP user. The presentation also highlights the new Verna's strong points over its chief rivals Honda City and Maruti Ciaz.
The new generation Verna is available with 1.6 L petrol and 1.6 L diesel engines mated to 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. According to the document, the 2017 Hyundai Verna mileage figure for the 1.6 petrol manual is 17.70 km/l and for the automatic is 15.92 km/l. Hyundai Verna diesel mileage stands at 24.75 km/l for the manual and 21.02 km/l for the automatic variant. These are ARAI certified figures.
Despite an increment over the previous generation's fuel efficiency ratings, they fall short of the City and Ciaz. Note that the Verna is the most powerful and the diesel is the torquiest vehicle in its class.
In terms of dimensions, the Hyundai Verna 2017 is as long as the City and has the same wheelbase as well, but at 4,490 mm the Ciaz takes the cake for sheer road presence. It has the highest headroom at 948 mm compared to the City and Ciaz's figures of 930 mm and 914 mm respectively.
Features unique to the Hyundai Verna in this segment include ventilated front seats, Smart Trunk functionality, cooled glove box, graphical MID, and ARKAMYS sound mood selector.
Hyundai will launch the new Verna on 22 August. Pre-bookings are already open online and through dealerships for an amount of INR 25,000.
