The Yamaha Nozza Grande is retailed in Vietnam at VND 41,990,000.
What we called the 'upcoming Yamaha scooter' spotted in Chennai this week by YouTube user Revzup is the Yamaha Nozza Grande.
The Yamaha Nozza Grande, launched in Vietnam in 2014 targeting female riders, is powered by a 125 cc single cylinder, 2-valve, SOHC mill coupled to a V-belt automatic gearbox. The fuel injected engine is capable of producing 8.2 PS of power at 6,500 rpm and 9.7 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm.
If introduced in India, the scooter could be powered by the existing 113 cc mill seen in the Yamaha Fascino. The Fascino’s powertrain produces 7.1 PS of power and 8.1 Nm of torque and has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 66 km/l. The transplant would be straightforward if the frame of the Nozza Grande is compatible with the smaller engine.
The Yamaha Nozza Grande has a 4.4-litre fuel tank and a 99 kg wet weight. The seat height of the scooter is 790 mm and it has a ground clearance of 125 mm which Yamaha India will have to optimise to allow the scooter to function normally in typical Indian riding conditions.
