The 2017 Maruti Dzire was launched in India on 16 May 2017 and had its first full month of sales in June during which 12,049 units were sent to dealers.
The 2017 Maruti Dzire ranked number 3 in passenger vehicle sales in June 2017. The same time last year, the Maruti Swift Dzire registered a sales figure of 15,560 units and was standing at second position among the passenger vehicles. This year, the Hyundai Grand i10 (12,317 units) has taken that spot.
The 2017 Maruti Dzire is based on the new 'Heartect' platform and is up to 105 kg lighter than the outgoing model. The all-new Dzire measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width and 1,515 mm in height, has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm and offers a ground clearance of 163 mm. It is available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 61 kW (81.77 hp) and 113 Nm of torque and a 1.3-litre diesel engine good for 55 kW (73.73 hp) and 190 Nm of torque. Transmission choices include 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual. The fuel economy is rated at 22 km/l (petrol)/28.4 km/l (diesel).
The 2017 Maruti Dzire's prices were recently reduced by up to INR 4,063 to pass on benefits from GST to the customers. Its prices start at INR 5,42,706 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base LXi configuration and go up to INR 9,39,084 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top-spec ZDi+ AGS configuration.
