All-new Land Rover Discovery set for festive season launch.
Jaguar Land Rover India's Managing Director and President Mr Rohit Suri had confirmed plans to launch ten new products this year in April, after which the Jaguar XE diesel was launched in May. Now, Mr Suri has revealed in an interview with The Economic Times that the company will launch the 2017 Land Rover Discovery in India in October 2017.
The 2017 Land Rover Discovery is the fifth incarnation of the nameplate. This is the third major redesign in the mid-size SUV's lifecycle, and it makes it look softer and luxurious than the previous model which had a rather utilitarian design. The all-new Land Rover Discovery gets its captivating looks from the Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept from 2014.
The 2017 Land Rover Discovery is sold with 2.0-litre Td4 and 2.0-litre Sd4 Ingenium inline four-cylinder diesel engines, 3.0-litre Td6 V6 diesel engine and 3.0-litre Si6 V6 petrol engine. The 2.0-litre Td4 engine produces 180 PS and 430 Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre Sd4 engine develops 240 PS and 500 Nm of torque. The 3.0-litre Td6 V6 engine is tuned for 258 PS and 600 Nm of torque. The 3.0-litre Si6 V6 engine puts out 340 PS and 450 Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard, and so is a four-wheel drive system, with a single-speed transfer box or a twin-speed transfer box depending on the engine model and equipment grade selected.

The 2017 Land Rover Discovery is available internationally in four grades: S, SE, HSE and HSE Luxury. Noteworthy features of the all-new Discovery are Adaptive LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, 22-inch wheels, LED taillights, full-glass fixed or opening panoramic roof, head-up display, 5-inch driver information display inside the instrument cluster, three-zone automatic climate control system, configurable ambient lighting, heated and cooled seats along with massage function for the driver and front passenger’s seats, 10-inch touchscreen InControl Touch Pro infotainment system and 17-speaker Meridian audio system.
