Bajaj Auto and Kawasaki ended their partnership in India on April 1, 2017.
While the Bajaj-Kawasaki partnership in India may have left many Kawasaki owners with a sour taste, a report in Motopinas reveals that the alliance will continue in the Philippines.
Kawasaki Philippines has a technical collaboration with Bajaj for 13 years now. Bajaj though first signed an agreement back in the 80s to produce and sell motorcycles in India and later in other parts of Asia. The agreement in the Philippines was signed to introduce dependable and technologically advanced motorcycles without compromising on fuel efficiency.

Bajaj’s Austrian partner KTM retails its motorcycles in the Philippines via Ayala Group. The alliance recently started producing the KTM Duke and RC range (KTM Duke 390, KTM RC390, KTM Duke 200 and KTM RC200) in the Philippines. Trial production began in January 2017 and production commenced in full swing in March 2017.
With the Nigerian market still getting back to its peak, Bajaj Auto is steadily trying to expand its international reach to compensate volumes. The company aims to enter five new markets in the financial year 2016-17.
