Renault Group's most popular SUV to enter its second generation this year.

The second-gen Dacia Duster/Renault Duster is not far from its first official appearance, with reports suggesting an IAA 2017 world premiere this September. While the 2018 Renault Duster's road testing continues in Europe, graphic designer Stelian Ratoi has created his depiction of the next-gen model.

The next-gen Renault Duster will feature an evolutionary design to maintain the traditional SUV look. While the rendering takes that into consideration, a few other differences spy photos show are the sleeker headlamps, less muscular profile with simpler door panels and a larger quarter glass. On the inside, the redesign should lead to an all-new dashboard with new trim and upholstery, better quality materials, ergonomics and upgraded tech, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration compatible touchscreen infotainment system.

Like the current Renault Duster, the next-gen Renault Duster should sit on the B0/Logan platform. Along with the familiar 1.2-litre TCe and H4K 1.5-litre petrol engines, Renault may offer the 1.6-litre dCi diesel engine as a replacement for the 1.5-litre dCi. 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed Efficient Dual-Clutch Automatic and 6-speed Easy-R AMT should form the transmission choices.

2018 Dacia Duster buyers should get optional four-wheel drive system in select configurations. At launch, the compact SUV, measuring 4.4 metres in length, will offer seats for five people. A 4.55-4.70 metre 7-seat version named 'Renault Grand Duster' is said to join the range next year, a boon for Renault subsdiaries like India where large SUVs are popular.
