Will debut at IAA 2017 this September.
The 2017 BMW M5 has made its first appearance sans camouflage, albeit digitally. The car's first teasers were released in images of the Need for Speed Payback video game announced by EA Games yesterday.
The sixth generation BMW M5 (codename: BMW F90), compared to the currently sportiest 2017 BMW 5 Series model - the M550i xDrive - is differentiated with the BMW M double kidney grille with the "M5" logo, redesigned bumper for improved aerodynamics, larger central air intake, reshaped side air vents and V-shaped creases close to the BMW logo on the hood.
At the first look of the 2017 BMW M5's teaser, the marker lights make it clear this is the U.S.-spec version of the car. Also visible, are large chrome-finish lightweight wheels shod with low-profile tyres. BMW will offer 19-inch wheels as standard and 20-inch wheels as an option in the all-new M5. The M high-performance variant does not feature the Air Breathers on the front fenders.

The 2017 BMW M5 is powered by a new version of the 4.4-litre M TwinPower Turbo turbocharged V8 petrol engine. The upgraded engine was previously said to have a maximum power output of around 600 hp, but the latest rumour is that it produces 608 hp between 6,000 rpm and 6,500 rpm and 554 lb.-ft. (749.77 Nm) of torque between 3,000 rpm and 5,000 rpm. An 8-speed automatic transmission has replaced the 6-speed manual transmission and 7-speed DCT together. For the first time, BMW will offer the xDrive all-wheel drive system in the M5 with the latest incarnation.
BMW will conduct the public premiere of the car at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA 2017) this September. The all-new BMW M5, if planned, will reach the Indian dealerships only next year.
