A Yamaha Fazer 250 had been spoken about by the Yamaha India senior management after the launch of the FZ, and these images shared by Northeast Biking Community is the first sighting of the machine.
The Yamaha Fazer 250 gets a semi-fairing which leaves the engine exposed. The touring tag gets drilled home with the windscreen and tall set handlebars. The presence of ABS though cannot be confirmed.
Powering the Yamaha Fazer 250 (Yamaha Fazer 25) is a 249 cc single cylinder, SOHC, air-cooled mill assisted by an oil-cooler. The fuel injected engine coupled to a 5-speed gearbox is capable of producing 20.9 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 20 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The naked roadster tips the scales at 148 kg and the Fazer 250 will be heavier from the extra plastic bodywork and new handlebar.
