A Vitara Brezza that can walk the ramp.
Following our imaginative renderings of a Maruti Dzire with a longer boot and the Maruti Dzire Fastback, Shoeb R Kalania has created a rendering of the Maruti Vitara Brezza 5-dr Coupe, with cues from a modern Range Rover.
Maruti's designers wouldn't compromise space and practicality for style, so if a Vitara Brezza coupe was in their minds, it's likely to have a good balance between the three. The sloping roof will eat up headroom for rear occupants, but if we can recall our time with the Vitara Brezza, there was plenty of headroom even for a 6 footer with a hat that setting the roof to slope a little wouldn't make for an uncomfortable experience at the back. The Vitara Brezza rendered has also been lowered and rides on larger rims inspired by that of the new Dzire.
Does Maruti need such a product in their lineup?
Why not? The Vitara Brezza's overwhelming success in the market will have the younger Maruti product planners scrambling for SUV ideas that are niche, if not in this generation, at least in the next. However, it's likely that a rugged successor to the Gypsy (next generation Suzuki Jimny) will have the investors and the board looking less worried and get the green light more easily.
The Vitara Brezza is sold only in the diesel manual variant and is priced between INR 7.26 Lakhs – 9.92 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). It's powered by a 1.3L DDiS 200 motor paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, which is capable of averaging a fuel economy of 24.3 km/L.
