The Honda CBR250RR is the world's most powerful and feature-loaded quarter-litre motorcycle.

The Honda CBR250RR was confirmed for the Japanese market in April 2017. Deliveries began on May 12, 2017. The motorcycle in Japan though has a reduced power output than the Indonesian model.

The Honda CBR250RR in Japan has a reduced power and torque output due to the homologation laws.

The 249.7 cc parallel twin mill, coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, is capable of producing 38.7 PS of power at 12,500 rpm in the Indonesian version. The Japanese version of the Honda CBR250RR, in turn, produces 38 PS of power at the same engine speed. The torque figure too falls from 23.3 Nm at 11,000 rpm from the Indonesian model to 23 Nm in the Japanese trim.

This drop is due to homologation laws of the two countries. The Honda CBR250RR in Japan gets bias type tyres while units in Indonesia get radial tyres. The Honda CBR250RR gets features like upside down fork, LED headlamp and aluminium swing arm in both markets.

The Honda CBR250RR is also the first quarter-litre motorcycle to get throttle by wire and three riding modes (Comfort, Sport and Sport+). The bike gets ABS as an option.
