The Honda Africa Twin will be available in India only in new Victory Red colour.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd has commenced bookings for the 2017 Honda Africa Twin in India which will be introduced via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. Initially, only 50 units of the adventure tourer will be available in India.
Available only in the top-end DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) variant, it has been very attractively priced as against its key competitor, the Triumph Tiger. The Honda Africa Twin gets telescopic suspension up front and prolink rear monoshock. The Honda CRF1000L gets switchable rear ABS and multiple mode Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC).
Brakes include 310 mm dual wave floating hydraulic disc with aluminium hub and radial fit 4-piston caliper and sintered metal pads up front and a 256 mm wave hydraulic disc with 2-piston caliper and sintered metal pads in the rear. The Honda Africa Twin gets 21-inch wheels in the front to tackle the obstacles and a 150/70 section 18-inch wheel in the rear. Both the tyres are tube types.

The Honda Africa Twin has a kerb weight of 245 kg and ground clearance of 250 mm. The seat height is adjustable and ranges between 820 mm and 840 mm. The fuel tank can store 18.8 litre of petrol.

The 2017 Honda Africa Twin is powered by the 999.11 cc twin-cylinder mill coupled to a 6-speed DCT, capable of producing 88.4 PS of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 91.9 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The Japanese version produces 95 PS of power and 98 Nm of torque.
The 2017 Honda Africa Twin has been priced at INR 12.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be available at Wing World dealerships across 22 cities.
