Confirmed to go on sale around Diwali (October-November).
Maruti Suzuki has started testing the 2017 Maruti S-Cross in India, spy shots published by GaadiWaadi have revealed. The test mule seen in the spy shots is heavily camouflaged, but we already know the design changes arriving with the facelift from the new Euro-spec version that was introduced last year.
The 2017 Maruti S-Cross will get a number of visual changes on the outside with the facelift. At the front, the 2017 Maruti S-Cross will feature a new radiator grille with vertical chrome slats and chrome surround, more expressive headlamps with LED lighting, LED daytime running lights, resculpted hood, wider lower grille and restyled bumper. This is the exterior portion having the most notable changes. At the rear, the tail lamps have new graphics and LED lighting.
The interior isn't expected to undergo any major changes besides new seat fabric. The Smartplay infotainment system could use an upgrade to gain Android Auto compatibility, but it remains to be seen if this feature would come with the update.
The Maruti S-Cross' engine options include 66 kW (88.51 hp) 1.3-litre DDiS 200 and 88 kW (118.01 hp) 1.6-litre DDiS 320 diesel units currently. With the facelift, Maruti Suzuki could lower the entry price point and attract more customers for the S-Cross with the introduction of a 1.5-litre petrol engine option. The current model doesn't even offer an option for an automatic transmission, another feature Maruti Suzuki could work on with the facelift.
