Honda’s sub-compact hatchback gets its mid-cycle update in Japan.

Honda has digitally revealed the 2017 Honda Jazz (2017 Honda Fit) in JDM specifications. The facelifted Honda Jazz will go on sale in Japan in late-June 2017. Other markets, including India, should start receiving the new model from the second half of the year, but this is not confirmed by the company.

The 2017 Honda Jazz features minimalistic changes on the outside. Up front, the facelift has brought slightly more athletic grille, bigger brand logo, new headlamp graphics and a remodelled bumper with round fog lamps to the Jazz. Save for the new-design wheels and black ORVMs, the profile remains unchanged. Honda is yet to reveal the new model’s rear, but leaked images show the sportier tailgate spoiler, tweaked taillamps and restyled bumper.

On the inside, the JDM-spec 2017 Honda Jazz gets new upholstery choices. A blurry image shows the instrument cluster graphics remaining as before.

The facelifted Honda Jazz gets the Honda Sensing suite of driver-assistive technologies, with Honda apparently listing eight different features for the model. From a pictorial presentation on the company’s Japanese website, it appears that Pedestrian Collision Mitigation Steering System, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic Sign Recognition are included in the list.

Honda has confirmed that the 2017 Honda Jazz is not getting a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with the facelift. The current 1.3-litre i-VTEC petrol, 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-VTEC + i-DCD petrol-electric hybrid options will continue in the Japanese market.
