An imaginative rendering that gives an idea of a performance-spec Ignis.
Indonesian rendering specialist Adrians Ramadhani has created a performance-oriented version of the Maruti Ignis. Note that neither Maruti-Suzuki nor Suzuki Motor plans to put an Ignis 'Sport' into production yet.
The changes made are subtle but add a dynamic look to Ignis' quirky styling. The rendered model features a black front lip spoiler, side skirts, black ORVM caps, roof spoiler, and graphics across the lower portion of the profile. Its height also seems to be shortened and sits on large gun metal rims wrapped with low profile tires.
If Maruti were to work on a sportier variant of the Ignis, a likely engine to be fitted is the 1.0L Boosterjet motor from the Baleno RS, which produces 100 hp (75kW) at 5,500 rpm and 150 Nm of torque between 1,700 rpm – 4,500 rpm. Given that the Ignis is lighter, it would feel peppier than the Baleno RS.

The Boosterjet motor would be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the suspension setup can be lowered and stiffened for that hot hatch driving dynamics.
Suzuki has been choosy about introducing 'Sport' variants. Models except the Swift and Vitara don't have a go-faster variant in the global market.
