Honda India announces launch of four new two-wheelers by March 31, 2018

Honda aims to make India a global export hub once the BSVI emission norms are in place by 2020.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd has announced that it will launch four new models in India which will include motorcycles as well as scooters. The first two of these are going to be known as the Honda Africa Twin with DCT gearbox and 2017 Honda CBR1000RR.

Apart from Honda Africa Twin and Honda CBR1000RR HMSI will be introducing two more models.

No more details have been revealed about the remaining two products but considering their supremacy in the scooter segment it won’t be entirely wrong to expect the other two to be automatic scooters.

Honda aims to increase its production capacity to 6.4 lakh units per annum with the updated facility will be ready by July 2017. Exports figures for the last fiscal stood at 2.83 lakhs and is expected to cross the 3 lakh unit mark in the fiscal 2017-18. The company will also be focusing on Intellectual Property Rights and will be boosting up their legal team.

Honda India is expecting their total volumes to cross 6 million units up from 5.69 lakh units sold in the recently concluded fiscal. A new task force has also been setup to get Honda India ready for BSVI emission norms which will be mandatory from April 2020. Two of the biggest technologies which will be seen in the products then include fuel injection and on-board vehicle diagnostics.

The 2017 Honda CBR1000RR and 2017 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP are priced INR 17.61 lakhs and 21.70 lakhs respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The company aims to add 500 touch points this fiscal taking the total tally up to 5,800.
