Ducati’s upcoming model Indian line-up price list revealed – Report
Neelanjan Chakraborty, Motorcycle Nut, will ride, preferably race anything on two wheels!
The upcoming Ducati motorcycles were showcased at World Ducati Week and EICMA 2016.
A report in Bikewale reveals that Ducati India is set to launch the Ducati Monster 797, Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled, Ducati Scrambler Café Racer, Ducati SuperSport and Ducati Multistrada 950. Set to be introduced as CBUs, bookings for the upcoming models are expected to begin in the next few weeks while deliveries will commence in June 2017.
The Ducati Monster 797 is the newest, and currently the smallest member of the Monster tribe. Powering the bike is an 803 cc air cooled mill which is also shared with the Scrambler range. The bike is claimed to be priced at INR 7.82 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). In comparison, the tech-loaded Monster 821 is priced at INR 9.72 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
|Motorcycle||Price (ex-showroom, Delhi)|
|Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled||INR 9.03 lakhs|
|Ducati Scrambler Café Racer||INR 9.03 lakhs|
|Ducati Monster 797||INR 7.82 lakhs|
|Ducati Multistrada 950||INR 11.53 lakhs|
|Ducati SuperSport||INR 11.72 lakhs|
|Ducati SuperSport S||INR 13 lakhs|
Taking the Scrambler legacy forward, the Desert Sled and Café Racer are two new versions designed for specific purposes. The bikes are said to be priced at INR 9.03 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Ducati Multistrada 950, their new entry level adventure tourer, will take on the Triumph Tiger family and is claimed to carry a sticker price of INR 11.53 lakhs, which is significantly cheaper than the INR 14.85 lakhs price tag of the entry-level Multistrada 1200 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Ducati SuperSport is their answer to everyday sport-biking. While the Panigale 959 has enough grunt in it to tear open the local race track, the new SuperSport allows for a slightly relaxed riding experience; a bike which will feel at home in the urban jungle as well as on a racetrack. It is claimed to be priced at INR 11.72 lakhs with the SuperSport S expected at INR 13 lakhs (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
Volkswagen is said to be planning to sell the Ducati brand, and word on the street is that Hero MotoCorp may be interested in the Italian bike maker.
