The Yamaha V-Ixion has recorded sales of around 2.5 million units.
Yamaha at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2017 has launched the 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion and 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion R. While the standard version continues with the same powertrain, the V-Ixion R gets the new VVA powertrain from the Yamaha R15 v3.0.
The 149.8 cc liquid cooled SOHC engine in the Yamaha V-Ixion is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The fuel injected mill is capable of producing 16.6 PS of power and 14.5 Nm.
Features on the redesigned 2017 model include assist and slipper clutch, LED headlight, LED taillamp, a new digital speedometer which has the welcome message ‘Hi Buddy’, Hazard lamp, removable mudguard and a pass-beam integrated into the light switch.

Colour options include Matt Silver, Red Black and Matte Black. The Yamaha V-Ixion tips the scales at 132 kg and has a 12-litre fuel tank. The bike gets disc brakes at both ends and a 120/70 section rear tyre.
The Yamaha V-Ixion R, on the other hand, gets the 155.1 cc VVA mill from the Yamaha R15 v3.0, coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine produces 19.31 PS of power and 14.7 Nm of torque. The exhaust canister is shorter while the instrumentation also gains a shift timing light. Also present is a USB charger and a 130/70 rear tyre. The Yamaha V-Ixion R weighs 131 kg and has an 11-litre fuel tank. Colour options include Matte Red Black, Blue Silver and Green White.
The 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion has been priced at IDR 26,000,000 while the price tag for the Yamaha V-Ixion R will be unveiled later.
