Kawasaki Z1000 in 2017 gains several important mechanical updates.
Kawasaki India has launched the 2017 Kawasaki Z1000 in India. Also launched is a sportier, special edition Kawasaki Z1000R.
Powering the 2017 Kawasaki Z1000 is a 1,043 cc in-line four cylinder mill coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. While output figures in India have not been revealed but the UK spec bike’s liquid cooled mill is capable of producing 142 PS of maximum power at 10,000 rpm and 111 Nm of peak torque at 7,300 rpm. The bike gets a revised ECU setting for a smoother power delivery. The rear brake pad too has been worked on.

Other changes in the 2017 Kawasaki Z1000 include a revised front fork setting for a suppler action and the rear travel has been increased. The 5-way adjustable clutch lever is a handy add-on while the mirrors offer greater range of movement. The instrumentation gains a gear position indicator and the clock can be set in 12 hour or 24 hour format.
The special edition Kawasaki Z1000R gets a 41 mm inverted forks up front and an Ohlins S46DR1S rear shock with rebound damping and remote preload adjustability. The standard bike gets 310 mm discs up front and a 250 mm rear disc. The Kawasaki Z1000R’s braking gets Brembo M50 monobloc caliper in the front.

The 2017 Kawasaki Z1000 will be available in Metallic Spark Black with Golden Blazed Green while the Kawasaki Z1000R will be available in Metallic Spark Black with Metallic Graphite Grey.
The 2017 Kawasaki Z1000 and 2017 Kawasaki Z1000R special edition have been priced at INR 14.4 lakhs and INR 15.49 lakhs respectively (ex-showroom, Pune).
