Brazil's first MQB A0 platform-based Volkswagen.
Announcing its new models arriving in the near future, Volkswagen brand chief Herbert Diess confirmed a new sedan named 'VW Virtus' at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The VW Virtus is made for Brazil, Volkswagen said, and presumably for other markets in Latin America.
Volkswagen has confirmed that it will use the MQB A0 platform for the VW Virtus. This platform currently underpins the Seat Ibiza and will form the basis for a number of other Volkswagen Group models in the future, including the next-gen VW Polo and next-gen Audi A1. The Virtus, or an iteration of it, could be the next-gen VW Polo Sedan in the international markets like South Africa and Russia.
Early testing of the VW Virtus has already commenced in Brazil, spy shots revealed in January 2017. These spy shots suggest that compared to the VW Voyage that it replaces, the VW Virtus would have a wider body and a longer wheelbase. Brazilian media suggests that the engine options may include the 1.0-litre TSI and 1.4-litre TSI petrol units among others.

The next-gen VW Vento's launch timeline for the Indian market is unknown, but with Tata and VW exploring platform synergies, the next-gen Polo family and their launch scheduled could be completely different from the global editions.
