The Yamaha R3 is being recalled in the United States reports Asphalt and Rubber. The recall is for units manufactured in 2015 as well as 2016. The Yamaha R3 is based on the Yamaha R25 which too may be facing a recall.
The Yamaha R3 is recalled because of two reasons, the first of which is a defect in the fuel tank fitting bracket which may cause the fuel tank to crack and leak fuel due to vibrations created by the engine. The other is for the main power switch which can be corroded by water or cold which might cause the motorcycle to stall while in motion.
