Rumoured to be called the Skoda Octavia Onyx Edition.
Skoda Auto India has released a teaser of a limited edition Skoda Octavia, which is confirmed to launch soon. According to media reports, it will be called the Skoda Octavia Onyx Edition and will launch next week.
The teaser does not reveal the changes; it simply features the front fascia of the current Octavia with the projector headlamp and LED DRL option. However, the teaser has a black and white filter, hinting that the Onyx edition could be similar to Octavia Black Edition introduced in the UK, which was reported to be in the pipeline for launch in India this year.
If same, the Skoda Octavia Onyx edition will only come in black or white exterior colours; feature gloss-black painted alloy rims, black ORVM caps, and black window line. Expect the exterior treatment to be similar to the Rapid (pre-facelift) Black Edition. Inside, the Octavia Onyx could feature an all black theme with black seat upholstery and dashboard.
The Octavia's engine lineup comprises of a 110 kW (150 PS) 1.4 TSI petrol, a 132 kW (180 PS) 1.8 TSI petrol and a 105 kW (143 PS) 2.0 TDI diesel. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed DSG automatic and 7-speed DSG automatic.
